Martinique. First Steps.
It was enough for a meeting between 2 navigators, a sharing of lived experiences, and very quickly, the hypothesis of creation of a pole Sailors for the Future in Martinique emerges naturally.
Then, the encouragement came from the head of the Marina. An enthusiastic welcome that encourages us to go further, without waiting too long.
The first steps of the activity in Martinique appear, logically, naturally for Sailors for the Future.
In Martinique, youth stakes are high:
Here, age is proving to be the most important determinant of access to employment:
Indeed, the youngest are the most affected by the worries of employment with an unemployment rate approaching the 51% in those under 25 years.
As we know from experience, in the face of these difficulties, the outcome of which they do not see, young people are often led to pessimism, dominated by doubt about the future. Above all, may end up doubting doubt themselves! It is on this ground also that we intervene. The slightest idea, the least breath of optimism, the least skill or sensitivity collected will be grasped, stimulated, reformulated, to integrate a personal project.
As regards Sailors, the great specificity of the Le Marin, is the size of the marina: we are numerous with being able to intervene. The harbour is giant: 750 places with quay, 100 buoys + many moorings. Boats come from the whole world, many European countries, but also from America (the USA, Canada)…. Many sailors can make share their experiment, to transmit the keys of the success of the individual objectives of youngs.
