The spirit of the meetings

Young people are considered preferably individually or in groups if they want to make a project with a team.

They are received the first time by two or three sailors maximum, preferably resulting from several countries, to give a dimension and an multi-international opening as of the beginning.

This can evolve depending on the project, sensitivities, affinities. Then, the program is set as required. But the principle of weekly appointment is important. This allows sailors to network, reflect, and young people to work on projects between two appointments.

The course of the first meeting

  1. Sailors thank the young people for their reception in their island, their country, their city or their village. Then, they introduce themselves first of all, to put the young people at ease, in the most factual possible way : origin, personal course, career, navigations realized, countries met.
  2. Then they ask young people about their curriculum, their lives, their desires, their projects, their routes, the difficulties encountered. They attempt to detect their own qualities, their sensibilities, their social and family ties.
  3. We do not hesitate to take notes.
